The Northern Cape provincial government has extended the closing date for the Transversal provincial bursary applications. Eunice Bezuidenhout for the premiers office,  says the new closing date is set for Friday, 24 November 2023. Bezuidenhout says the outcome of the applications received is not as desired, therefore the new date.  She says the bursary will enable youth that are financially and academically deserving of the opportunity to gain access to tertiary education and obtain a qualification. Youth aged between 18-35 are eligible to submit applications that are accessible from high schools, department of labour centres, thusong centres, TVET Colleges, GCIS, provincial government website and the office of the premier. The cost of bursaries will vary from 50 thousand rand to 100 thousand depending on the total household income. Bezuidenhout says the bursary will cover studies regarded as scarce and critical fields within the public and private sectors.
