The MEC responsible for education in the Northern Cape, Zolile Monakali is leading a delegation from the Northern Cape  in attendance of the European Union Green Hydrogen Week commencing today and concludes on Friday, 24 November 2023 in Brussels, Belgium. The European Union (EU), which is one of the biggest players in the renewable energy space, is bringing together key stakeholders, experts and industry leaders from across the globe which provides an invaluable opportunity to explore potential collaborations, partnerships and investments into the provincial and national Green Hydrogen ambitions. Ali Diteme, Spokesperson to the MEC of the Department of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism says  this platform is also critical for knowledge exchange and innovation which will enable the province to stay ahead in hydrogen technology, latest trends and best practices. The Northern Cape Province is emerging as an important player in the production of Green Hydrogen and Ammonia, as within the atmosphere of the Boegoebaai GH2 Development program. Earlier last month, the Northern Cape Provincial Administration adopted the Green Hydrogen Provincial Masterplan at the Green Hydrogen summit in Cape Town. The Masterplan outlines clear strategies on how to propel the province towards economic growth and export opportunities, major opportunities for large-scale infrastructure developments, significant job creation and skills development strategy.
