The South Africa Police Service says, a 53 year old man was arrested at a scrap metal dealership in Paballelo yesterday, 16 November 2023 for allegedly purchasing stolen goods. Police spokesperson Sergeant Omphile Masegela says, the suspect was arrested after the police found copper cables following information received regarding copper cable being allegedly sold and stored on the property. Masegela says, during the required inspection of the property and discussion with the owner, the police learned that 152 kilograms of copper to the value of over R17 000 had been generated. The suspect is expected to appear in the Upington magistrates court soon.
