Police in collaboration with the district community police forums and other relevant role players hosted a community imbizo at the Piet Thole Community Hall in Rosedale as a build up program to the provincial launch of the safer festive season operation to be held on Friday, the 17th November 2023 at Upington high school. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Sergio Kock says the imbizo was held as a platform to discuss crime in the district and the formal introduction of the newly appointed ZF Mgcawu district commissioner major general Thabo Elizabeth Mphuthi. Kock says the purpose of the engagement was relayed by the deputy provincial commissioner for policing, major general Luntu Ngubelanga who formally introduced major general Mphuthi to the greater Upington  communities.
