The Dawid Kruiper local municipality says the quality of water to the residents of the municipal area remains a top priority. The municipality says the Abraham “Holbors” September waterwork plant is the biggest water plant in Upington and supplies water to the entire district as well as neighbouring communities. A chemical engineer and director at the municipality, Eloise Sago prides herself in the outstanding work they do at this plant…………INSERT (Sago)Some residents of the Dawid Kruiper local municipality say they prefer drinking bottled water whilst saying the tap water does not treat their body system well whilst others say bottled water is an unnecessary expense, as the water provided is clean. One resident who prefers bottled water had the following to say…INSERT (BOTTLED WATER)Another resident says water is still the same whether bottled or coming straight from the tap….INSERT (TAP WATER)According to research, even though bottled water looks and tastes better than tap water, reverse osmosis does not only distill the water but strips away most of the valuable minerals, microbes, and natural chemicals the body needs to sustain itself. Research also suggests that regardless of what water is consumed, it is important to choose water that provides adequate hydration as well as aiding in overall body health.
