As part of cancer awareness month which is annually observed during october the SPU's Employee Wellness office is hosting a breast cancer awareness session as part of the activities of creating awareness about the disease. The university shares on their official social media that statistics show that about 1.7 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and therefore has become the most prevalent type among females worldwide. The university says in attendance at the activities of today was Sister Monza Modise-Keetile from MSECH Occupational Health and Safety, an expert nurse, who at her turn shared critical information on identifying and addressing concerns while demonstrating how to conduct self examinations for early detection purposes. Furthermore SPU female staff were granted the opportunity to engage with each other on how they've either been directly or indirectly been affected by this disease.
