The Pixley Ka Seme district municipality in collaboration with MerSeta are embarking on a skills development roadshow for the benefit of the youth between the ages of 18 and 35 who are interested in acquiring skills within the fields of engineering. This roadshow is scheduled to commence across all five districts within the Northern cape. The program started yesterday 24 October 2023 in the Emthanjeni and Umsombovu local municipal areas and will today be rolled out in the Ubuntu and Kareeberg municipal areas. The Pixley Ka Seme district municipality says the aim of this project is to identify, recruit, train, skill and certify youth through various MerSeta programs including learnerships in the field of being an electrician and welding amongst others. Through this project bursaries are also being offered for manufacturing and industrial engineering courses. The municipality encourages all youth who are interested to make use of this opportunity for the benefit of their futures.
