The Council of Emthanjeni, in partnership with the Civil Society and the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, organized an event yesterday to celebrate the international day for the elderly. The event, held annually in October, aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the elderly, honor their contributions to society, and promote their inclusion in daily life. The activities included indigenous games such as board games, tug-of-war, fun walk, and a 100m sprint. Mayor of the municipality, Lulamile Nkumbi, according to an official statement by the Pixley Ka Seme District, participated in the event and expressed gratitude to the elders for their significant contributions.
