Police arrested a suspect with copper cable

The South African Police Service says the Kuyasa police arrested a 50 year old man on Sunday, the 15th of October 2023 after being found in possession of Copper cable worth approximately R1.2 million. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock says, the arrest was made after the police spotted a suspicious looking Isuzu Bakkie loaded with copper cable. Kock says, the police attempted to stop and search the vehicle and the driver sped off and alter abandoned the bakkie and fled on foot. He says police confiscated tools namely a saw, spanners, pliers, a set of binoculars and the Isuzu bakkie, believed to be utilized during the commission of the theft of the copper cable.
