The South African Police Service says, on Friday, 13 October 2023 at approximately 17h00 three male persons allegedly stole one Vandor sheep valued at R2200 out of the kraal on a farm in Petrusville.
The police says, they followed up on information and managed to track and trace the suspects and recovered the slaughtered sheep.
Three suspects aged 18, 26 and 31 respectively were arrested for stock theft who will appear in court soon.
SAPS encouraged livestock owners to report suspicious persons to the police, local farm unions and neighbours immediately. They are also urged to ensure that their live stock are branded making it easy to be identified.
However, addressing the root causes of stock theft also requires a concerted effort from all stakeholders.
