The firearm liquor and second hand goods unit in conjunction with provincial liquor board supported by the office of the premier and the gambling board embarked on an alcohol abuse program at Six Tavern in Galeshewe on Friday, the 13th October 2023. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says, it was neccessary for all stakeholders to have a conversation that would assist all concerned to reduce the emotional and psychological impact alcohol abuse has on families, which also results in the commission of crime. Sam says Frances Baard acting district commissioner brigadier Charlotte Makgari pleaded with the liquor outlets and tavern owners to assist the police by being responsible traders who close on time, not selling liquor to already drunk patrons, children and pregnant women. They were reporting suspicious criminal activities occurring in their establishments and be part of crime solving structures. Sam says the following..........
