The South African Police Service say, they arrested 148 suspects for an array of crimes while a further 133 wanted suspects were traced across the province the past week. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Sergio Kock says police actions were executed from Monday, the 18th of September 2023 to Sunday, the 24th of September 2023 and comprised of stop and searches, compliance inspections at liquor outlets, tracing operations by detectives, visits to businesses and second hands goods dealers. Kock says a multitude of disruptive actions included 215 stop and searches, searches at taxi ranks, visibility in shopping malls and complexes and other hotspot areas was deployed. Kock says all the suspects will appear in their respective courts soon.
