The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) led by the Deputy Chairperson, Mrs. Sylvia Lucas, conducted a week long oversight Programme in the Province, under the theme “Building Viable Provincial and Municipal Infrastructure for Effective Delivery of Services to Communities”. This project served according to an official statement by the department of roads and public works the NCOP an opportunity to meet with national, provincial and local government stakeholders about service delivery and infrastructure development in the northern cape province as the governing bodies believe it is a crucial component that strengthens the efforts of government as they work hard to make life better for all of the people in the province. As part of the activities of this program the members of the NCOP on the last day of the scheduled week visited the Batlharos S'hamba Sonke Project and the Maphiniki Vala Zonke Project, in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District.
