The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape says they will continue to protect the community and support victims of gender based violence and femicide. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the provincial commissioner Lieutenant general Koliswa Otola applauded the detective sergeant Tokkie van Rensburg for the thorough and meticulous investigation of the case of the Heuningvlei serial rapist who was convicted to life imprisonment in Kuruman. Sam says Otola further mentioned that the might of justice have no time limits and that the police will continue unabatedly to support GBVF victims and dig deep in ensuring that perpetrators committing these heinous crimes will feel the full might of the law.
