Strike stopped

The planned protest march in Lethabo Park Phase 2 by residents was halted as community members reportedly opted for a peaceful approach. Instead of protesting, residents decided to engage with the Sol Plaatje Municipality. The residents had initially barricaded parts of Eagle and Starling streets in frustration over delays in the local electrification project. However, they cleared the roads after the police arrived. The residents had previously submitted a list of grievances and had a round-table discussion at the municipal chambers, but there was no progress. An agreement was reached for Soll Plaatjie Mayor Kagisho Sonyoni to address the residents at 5 pm.
