Decrease in unemployment according to STATS Q2 report

The second quarterly report for 2023 of statistics SA  released on 15 August 2023 has indicated a significant decrease of 3% in expanded unemployment. The report highlights that 136 thousand people are unemployed. Premier Dr Zamani Saul says the reason is the disconnect and mismatch between the skills base and what the labour market requires. He says fast evolving labour markets and the skills base in the province does not respond. He says the heart of the problem  is structural unemployment. Saul voiced that this challenge would be addressed on the platform of the Northern Cape HRDC. Premier Saul has reiterated the commitments of provincial government to address the skills mismatch in the province and the continuous strive towards unemployment
