The MEC for basic education in the Northern Cape , Zolile Monakali conducted oversight visits to the newly constructed replacement schools in Upington which includes Carlton van Heerden High, Franciscus Intermediate and Oranje-Oewer Intermediate Schools. The infrastructure development of the schools commenced last year and will be finalized in due time. The replacement of the schools has brought temporary job opportunities to local communities who continuously deal with the scourge of unemployment. Monakali says that he is satisfied with the progress made so far at the three projects respectively. Monakali's oversight visit runs concurrently with the MEC's book club launch to take place tomorrow.
