Police in Douglsa arrested suspects, closed taverns and issued 14 drivers with fine

9 suspects were arrested earlier today for robbery, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs and drug trafficking, at Breipaal and Bongani locations as well as Douglas respectively. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says police seized drugs valued at over R23 000, dangerous weapons and over R27 000 cash believed to be the proceeds of crime. Sam says 2 tarvens were immediately closed down for non compliance. He says 14 drivers were issued with road traffic management fines to the value of R19 050-00 for driving without driver's license, unroadworthy vehicles, failure to display a license disc, operating a motorbike without a license and driving with an expired license disk.
