Breast feeding week

The first week of August marks yet another observation of World Breastfeeding week, by the World Health Organization (WHO) and this year aims to be no different. Mothers from different walks of life have raised their voices on the importance of breastfeeding.  Instrumental aspects highlighted by these mothers include the bonding between mother and child, nutritional benefits which are much higher than formula feeding, and the control of post-natal depression.                                                                Insert (Breastfeeding) Breastfeeding week is celebrated this year under the theme” let’s make breastfeeding and work, work”. World breastfeeding week was first observed in 1992. New and aspiring mothers are encouraged to breastfeed their babies as the optimal option.
