A joint unplanned crime-combatting operation conducted by members of Port Nolloth and Kleinsee SAPS, in collaboration with a private security company resulted in the arrest of six suspects and the seizure of suspected illicit commodities in Kleinsee on Thursday, the 17th September 2026. Police spokesperson captain Ivan Magerman says the operation was conducted and focused on addressing illegal mining activities, drug-related offences and undocumented persons within the Kleinsee policing area. Magerman says police arrested two men aged 30 and 32 years old after they were allegedly found in possession of a suspected unpolished diamond. He says the value of the suspected diamond is yet to be determined.
