DA views the allegations brought against Thapelo Matlala, Sol Plaatje municipality by the community as very serious

The Democratic Alliance in the Sol Plaatje Municipality has stressed that the timelines for the investigation and any possible disciplinary action against municipal manager,Thapelo Matlala, must be strictly adhered to.

DA councillor Willie Erasmus said the party regards the allegations raised by the community against Matlala as extremely serious. He emphasized that the DA is firmly opposed to corruption in any form.

Erasmus added that the DA had also voted against Matlala’s initial appointment as municipal manager, after key selection criteria were withheld from council. According to him, the party identified and supported more suitable candidates at the time.
