Victoria West Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Housebreaking and Theft
The South African Police Service says, 25 year old Gershwin Erasmus, was sentenced to five years direct imprisonment by the Victoria West Magistrate’s Court on 29 July 2025. The sentence follows his conviction on a charge of housebreaking and theft.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock, the incident took place on 17 July 2024, when Erasmus unlawfully entered a residence in Victoria West and stole several valuable items. These included a laptop, a television set, a Gucci necklace, and a watch.
