Agricultural Budget Serves As Instrument Of Transformation.
The MEC for the Department Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform, Mase Manopole yesterday tabled the Budget Vote 12 for the Department for the fiscal year 2025 / 2025. Manoploe said a total of R735 million will be invested in the future of agriculture, environment, and rural development in the Northern Cape.
Departmental key commitments for the 2025/26 financial year, amongst many, include, 750 new job opportunities and 210 environmental jobs opportunities, Support for 1,300 subsistence producers through food security initiatives, 8 LandCare projects creating 50 EPWP opportunities, Empowering women & youth with over R205 million through CASP & Ilima/Letsema, Launch of a Digital Extension Support System for smallholder farmers.
