South African Private Security Hosts Roadshow in Upington to Empower Security Sector

Thabo Tsimane, President of the South African Private Security Organisation, is leading a two-day roadshow currently underway at Piet Thole Hall in Rosedale, Upington. The event, which began yesterday, continues today until 4:00 in the afternoon.

Tsimane says the roadshow aims to empower both employers and employees in the private security sector by providing vital information on legislation, workers’ rights, and support services available within the industry.

Several key stakeholders are present at the event, including the Bargaining Council, the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), the Department of Labour, the Provident Fund, and Afimity Medical Aid Scheme.

Tsimane explained that Upington was specifically chosen to host the event in an effort to reach out to more remote communities that often lack direct access to such resources.

He encourages residents to attend, emphasizing the importance of taking advantage of the free services and information being offered. These include guidance on labour laws, medical aid options through Afimity, and support related to provident fund benefits.

Tsimane says, the next leg of the roadshow is scheduled to take place in Kimberley, as the organisation continues its mission to strengthen and inform the private security workforce across the country.
