ARC Showcases Innovation at NAMPO Harvest Day 2025
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) will take part in NAMPO Harvest Day 2025, one of Africa’s largest agricultural exhibitions, from 13 to 17 May in Bothaville, Free State. As the country’s leading agricultural research institution, the ARC will showcase cutting-edge technologies, climate-smart solutions, and innovations aimed at boosting food security, productivity, and sustainability. At this year’s event, ARC will present a variety of research outcomes, including improved, climate-resilient crops and livestock, as well as disease management strategies. A major focus will be on agro-processing, turning raw agricultural products into value-added goods. Dr Lerato Madzawanyane, research team manager at ARC, elaborates:

The ARC also provides farmer training, promotes the use of
low-input indigenous crops, and supports climate-resilient practices. Through
ongoing research and its upcoming Centre of Excellence for Climate Smart
Agriculture, the council continues to help farmers adapt to challenges like
drought, soil degradation, and pest outbreaks.
