SANParks Urges Public to Stay Off Tokai and Silvermine Trails
SANParks is still dealing with flareups in the Tokai and Silvermine areas and is urging the public to stay off all closed trails for their own safety.
SANParks says the ground remains unstable and cleanup of nails and pins is still underway, making it too early to reopen the trails.
Entering closed areas
also risks damaging regrowing vegetation and disturbing wildlife with limited
shelter. With rain forecast this weekend, SANParks said in a statement that
conditions will be reassessed as wet weather could trigger rockfalls and slope
instability. Updates will be shared when it's safe to reopen.
