The South African Police Service in Upington have been praised for the recovery of high voltage Eskom testing equipment that was stolen. The recovered testing equipment is reportedly exceeding the value of R1 million. Station Commander of the Upington SAPS, Brigadier Peet Coetzee acknowledged a letter of appreciation from the management of Eskom, recognizing the excellent and swift investigation by the members of the Upington Detectives and Crime Prevention. Coetzee says team leader of General Crimes Lieutenant Colonel Letlhogonolo Kanakang alongside Constable Clarence Olyn spearheaded the case. Joint efforts led to the recovery of the equipment at the Upington taxi rank.
